Music Magazine Construction- Interivew Video

I decided to interview two of my peers to see what they thought of my Contents Page. They would be targeted as my ideal readers as they are both seventeen, are into music and love to read magazines. The interview went quite well and I definatley have a better insight as to how I could make my contents page even better. I created this video using Notability on my IPad and then emailed it to myself and edited it using Windows Movie Maker on my computer.

Music Magazine Construction- DPS First Draft

Here I have uploaded the first draft of my Double Page Spread. I was very restricted with time so I know where changes can be done but overall I am very happy with the outcome. In my next draft I am going to add more text to the interview and make the font smaller so I can fit more in. But overall I think this is very good for a first draft. I completed half of my DPS on Photoshop and the other half on InDesign. I didn't particularly want to use InDesign, but I knew that I had to use different types of software to make sure that I had a variety during the process of my construction. From GCSE I had a very good knowledge of how to use Photoshop, so when I went to use InDesign I found it difficult as I had never used it before. It is a lot different to Photoshop but after watching a range of tutorials on Youtube and looking up different ways of how to do stuff on Google I got the hang of it.

Music Magazine Construction-Images used in my DPS

I created an Animoto video of the images in my DPS so viewers and readers could get a better view of what the images are like as they are clearer and bigger here. I used Animoto as it is a different rage of software compared to what I typically use.

Music Magazine Construction- Comparing Contents

I compared my contents page to two different types of magazine's contents pages. I did this so I could see what mine looked like compared to a real life one from a professional world wide magazine. in my opinion I think that my contetns page looks very professional and fits in very well. 

Music Magazine Construction- Contents Page Feedback (First Draft)

In class, our teacher set out the task where we had to go to each others computers and give feedback on the first drafts of our contents page. I was very happy with the overall feedback and adjusted my contents page for the second draft to fix what my peers said needed fixing.

Music Magazine Construction- Double Page Spread Cover

I decided to create a front cover for my double page spread. I was not going to be able to use this photo in either my front cover, contents page, or double page spread so i decided to create the cover so I could use this image. I was inspired by an issue of Q Magazine and a past pupils work to create this, and I am very happy with the way it turned out.

Music Magazine Construction- Contents Page Second Draft

This is my second draft from my contents page. After receiving feedback from the class I took it on board and made a few changes. The biggest change /i made was removing the red box around the features and placing in two red lines. With the red box i think ti made the contents page look to full and cramped and it also made it look quite childish. I changed the colour of the Dyson image to black and white due to some people saying that there was too much colour. I changed it to black and white because they are neutral colour's which are two out of the three dominant colours in my magazine. The old image had too much colour in it like pink, yellow, green and blue which made it not fit in. When I received feedback from my teacher I added in some extra things like the lines under the regular/every month section to make it fit in and I find that this makes the contents page more accessible. I am very happy with this draft, and I am going to attempt to receive more feedback in case there is anything thing else to change that I have left out.

This is my first draft of my contents page. I am very happy with the overall outcome. For my next draft I am going to try get some feedback so I can try make it as professional as I can. Again, I created this using Photoshop. I used this software as it is very straightforward and easy to use. For my double page spread I am going to use Photoshop along with Adobe InDesign, so I have a variety of softwares durng the construction in my media music magazine.
